Helping a friend

So earlier tonight I was talking to a friend who was interested in the Costal Scents 88 Pallet as well as getting more into makeup in general. As anyone that is really in to makeup will know, all the cheap 88 pallets going around are the same, just with different brand names stamped on them. So I decided for her, I would do some swatches of cheap but decent to amazing drug store products that I own to help give her an idea of what would be a good starting point. Also, it gets this blog up and going again. So Crys, this one is for you.
All these swatched over Urban Decay Primer Potion although Two Faced Shadow Insurance is my preferred primer. All places to get these products are where I have found them in Canada (Sorry to any international viewers or Kat)

88 Matte Pallet
Pros
- Inexpensive
- Plenty of colors to choose from
- Tons of brights
Cons
- Like many Matte colors from lower priced products, they are VERY chalky
- Due to their chalky nature, it is not the first pallet I will go to, ever
- They are so tiny that even the good colors do not last long enough

88 Shimmer Pallet
Pros
- Inexpensive
- Plenty of colors to choose from
- Tons of brights
- Not as chalky as the matte pallet
Cons
- There are still quite a few matte colors and they are very chalky
- They are a small shadow

Wet'n'Wild Pallets (Walmart, Superstore)
Pros
- Super cheap ($4-5 per pallet)
- Super pigmented
- Decent sized shadows
- They have an amazingly pigmented matte white which is very hard to find
- Pallets are perfectly set up for a full eye look
- Many MAC dupes
Cons
- Couple you have to layer a bit more than others

Maybelline Eye Studio Pallets (Walmart, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart)
Pros
- Nice colors
- Large variety
- Decent pigmentation
Cons
- Purples need to be layered or on a stickier base to get it to be a smooth even color

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner (Walmart, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart)
Pro
- Amazing gel liner
- Same quality level as the MAC gel liner

Maybelline Color Tattoo Base (Walmart, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart)
Pros
- Wide variety

- Great substitute for MAC Paint pots
Cons
- Purple is really poorly done

Maybelline MasterDrama eyeliner (Walmart, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart)

Loreal Infallible Shadows (Walmart, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart)

Joe Liquid pen liner (Superstore)
Pros
- Nice felt tip pen liner
- Very pigmented black and teal
Cons
- Purple was streaky and I threw it out long before this post

Hard Candy Liquid pen liner (Walmart)
Pros
- Nice felt tip pen liners
- Long lasting
Cons
- Not as pigmented so would need very light, neutral makeup underneath it

Milani Brow pen (Superstore)
Pros
- Felt tip pen
- Buildable color
- Nice variety of colors
Cons
- Starts off too light and needs to be built a lot but is easy to over build on these

Annabelle glitter eyeliners (Walmart, Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart)
Pros
- Many colors
- Not overly glittery
- Perfect over a black eyeliner on a neutral or elaborate makeup look
Cons
- None, I love these things

Hard Candy glitter liner (Walmart)
Pros
- Nice Variety
- Colored base
 Cons
- Due to it having a color base, if not used over a black liner it can look streaky

And last but not least, this is not a drug store product but at only $15 a color, for a massive jar of it (I probably will never run out of these)

Ben Nye loose shadows (Don's Hobby Shop)

OMG ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!!

OMG! Kat AND Kayla BOTH posting... ON THE SAME DAY!
IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!
I just figured I'd post a video on whats going on at the opposite end of the continent, up in the other country..
OMG I JUST REALIZED IM WEARING THE SAME SWEATER IN THIS AND MY LAST VIDEO!!!

And just to clarify in the vid, how I was talking to her was through texts... And I do not have their HOUSE number.

Well hope you are all doing well, but it is time for this one to go watch a movie... Or some old downloaded TV shows...

Penelope Garcia inspiration

OK so i was completely in love with Penelope's make up on Criminal minds this week. She is probably my favorite character on tv(abby from NCIS is also another favorite of mine). once i saw her purple and pink eyes i knew i wanted to recreate it, but add my spin. i added a little gold on the corners to highlight my eyes.

ok so totally disregard the little hairs on my face in this pic. lol I didn't even know i still had hair on my face from work. hazard of being a hair stylist. Always having someone else's hair on my body ICK!!!!!!!!

I LIVE AS WELL!!!!!

i know I know it's been FOREVER since i posted. Life seemed to catch up with me and makeup seemed to disappear for a while. I have spent most of my summer makeupless. mainly due to the insane heat and the makeup seemed to just melt off my face. I know i need to get back in the habit of getting up early and doing my makeup for work. I have a very hectic lifestyle right now cause we are short staffed at work, and I go back and forth between my house and my boyfriends and I never have everything i need to do my makeup.

In the mean time I did do some makeup on a few people to add to my portfolio.
